Parent's Day Out

First Presbyterian Church's Parent's Day Out program strives to provide a safe, Christian environment for children while their parents have a "day out". This program is for children who have reached 18 months of age through age 5, but have not yet entered kindergarten. PDO meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 2 during the school year. Our program provides age-appropriate activities that are implemented through structured learning and guided play while encouraging your child to develop mentally, spiritually, and socially. If you have any questions please contact our church office at

How To Serve and Give Back

What did Jesus love about the widow’s giving? He loved the widow’s passionate response to the priceless spiritual gifts she had received. Her loving response to the Lord reflected the completion of the circle of love within her, begun by God. The widow’s attitude stood out from the wealthy; she gave all she had. They gave “out of their wealth.”

Pray that the inspiration we gain from these words helps create in us a heart that fully honors God with our own gifts.

Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” -Mark 12:43-44

We can tithe with our funds to help serve our church, but more importantly we can also tithe with our time. A great way to serve your church is to offer your skills, your talents, your gifts or just your helping hands. If you are unsure of ways to volunteer or help, the service board "Fan The Flames" in the hallway always has ideas and suggestions for service within the church as well as the community around us. If the Holy Spirit burdens your hearts as well with ideas or projects to serve and you would like to include others, use this service board to reach members of the congregation.
